There are several ch E2 (48.25MHz) TV transmitters in Norway. Many areas has TX restrictions for radioamateurs. In these areas it is not legal to transmit on 50MHz while NRK is transmitting their signals. In the areas with primary coverage of the E2 TV channel, the amateurs has special responsibillity to make sure their transmissions does not disturb the TV receivers even when all rules and regulations are met.

TV will change to digital (UHF) in 2007-2009. The most populated areas will stop using 50MHz TV in 2008 while the rest will end before 2010. We hope ham-radio will get primary status in 2010!
